Several years ago I made my own butter from scratch. Since having to change to dairy-free meals for our family, we have faced challenges in finding a good butter alternative. We have tried several different brands and the best we have found is Miyoko’s Organic European Style Cultured Vegan Butter. While this butter alternative is not allergen free (contains cashews), it works for our family. Try this recipe on steaks, fish, potatoes, and vegetables.
Vegan garlic-chive butter
Keep it simple. This quick condiment is great on steaks, potatoes, and bread… gluten-free or regular.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup vegan butter Miyoko's Organic European Style Cultured Vegan Butter
- 3-4 cloves garlic chopped
- 8-10 sprigs chives chopped
Instructions
- Set butter on counter to soften a little.
- Finely chop garlic and chives.
- Mix herbs with softened butter.
Notes
I’ve specifically used Miyoko’s Organic European Style Cultured Vegan Butter instead of making my own. It has helped save time when I am creating the rest of the meal. This particular vegan butter is made with coconut oil and cashews. Remember to always read ingredient labels to look for allergens.
For a sweeter and less garlicky butter, sauté garlic before mixing with other ingredients.
