A Sweedish spin on baked potatoes, your guests can dress them up however they would like. By slicing the potatoes thinly, you can achieve a crispness to teach bite that you don’t get with a regular baked potato. You can also stuff cheese, prosciutto, herbs and more in the slices before or after you cook. This basic recipe gives you a start to explore the way you enjoy these best. Your guest can also choose between dairy or dairy-free toppings depending on their dietary needs.
Hasselback potatoes
A Sweedish spin on baked potatoes. You can top these any way you like… from flavored butter to bacon, cheese and chives.
Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes
- 1 tbsp bacon fat melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450ΒΊ F.
- Wash potatoes and slice thinly (β slices) but not completely through. You could use chopsticks placed on both sides of the potatoes to prevent from cutting all the way through.
- Brush the potatoes with the bacon fat. You could also use regular or vegan butter, duck fat, or olive oil. Place in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove and brush remaining bacon fat on the potatoes. Bake another 20 minutes. Remove from oven and dress however you would like (herbs, flavored butter, bacon, sour cream… the options are limitless!)!
